Maxie calls Jason to the hospital room, and asks him to try and talk some sense into Spinelli, which he does, but his words aren't enough.

Meanwhile, Kate is furious when the magazine's summer exclusive is ripped out from under her due to Maxie's abscense. She calls Maxie and tells her if she isn't in the office in one hour, she'll be fired.

Epiphany says her tests are fine, but thinks she should stay in the hospital longer. Maxie tells Epiphany she can't, and signs herself out. She says bye to Spinelli and heads to work.

Maxie gets to work, but she starts coughing rapidly, she tries to tell Lulu and Kate that shes fine but her coughing gets worse and worse through-out the night.
