The Living One webinar series, “A Re-Enchanted World,” begins at 10am PT on Friday 22nd August 2025.

We will be exploring ways to re-enchant our experience of the living Earth with a group of thinkers who have shed their cultural blinkers and inhabit a world of wonder.

As Patrick Curry writes: 'The experience at the heart of enchantment is sheer existential wonder, and it comes, as William James (1897: 154) noticed, “as a gift or not at all.” There is no place for willing, making or consciously doing here, so enchantment and activities like these are immiscible, like oil and water, even when they are circumstantially entangled. The appropriate attitude to it was therefore nicely summed up by Freya Stark (2013: 107) as “fearless receptivity.”’
