As Archie investigates a circle of dealers, collectors, and treasure hunters—each with motive and means—the case grows darker. Four suspects wanted Gilchrist dead. A wealthy collector he'd nearly destroyed. A curator he'd defrauded. A rival dealer he'd betrayed. A cave guide he'd cheated. Each had reason to follow him into the grotto.
