The ambitious rail project connecting Srinagar to Kanyakumari is progressing steadily, with a successful trial run of the first electric engine conducted between Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Reasi Station on the newly laid track. The trial passed through the challenging Tunnel T33 of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) and the iconic Anji Khad Cable Bridge.

Indian Railways is now preparing to open the Sangaldan to Katra section, bringing the long-awaited rail connection closer to completion. This development will significantly improve regional connectivity, boost tourism, and strengthen economic links across India.
