This square has been the city's main stage since 1158. Watch at the Neues Rathaus with its famous Glockenspiel. Twice daily, watch 43 bells chime and 32 life-sized figures reenact historical events. Look closely - the knight representing Munich always wins the joust. Fun fact: there's a tiny golden bird at the top of the Glockenspiel - listen for its three chirps marking the end of the show.
