The white-rumped munia or white-rumped mannikin, sometimes called striated finch in aviculture, is a small passerine bird from the family of waxbill "finches". These are not close relatives of the true finches or true sparrows.

When mom went out to look for food, these four chicks were constantly moving while sleeping. After mom bird feeds all the young until they are full, mom still watches over the young in the nest. The mother cleans and collects the feces of the young to eat.
