Ah yes, episode 2 of our #scottish Musketeers #Adventure! On the timeline it was day 3, our second full day in Scotland. We camped just south of Inverness, and this time decided to skip the whole east side of the NC500. After riding that bit two years ago, we thought its not the most exciting bit of road, so we skipped it. Yes, we've missed a little bit of the coast, a castle, the whole John'o'Groats bit, but to be honest, the route we've took was more interesting. At least for us!
We switched around and altered your usual #nc500 route, and instead of heading north from Inverness to John’o’Groats, we took the A836 road, which took us through Bonar Bridge, Altnaharra, Loch Loyal, up to Kyle of Tongue. From there we returned to a spot we found two years ago, in a village called #Talmine (if I pronounce it correctly). The spot is absolutely fantastic, and we highly recommend it! Although it did change a little bit since we've been there the last time - on our beloved spot, there's now a 'Private property' sign, which we decided to abide and we've parked just next to that spot, on a parking place. Well, it's not the best, but still very nice!
Going back to the broken bikes… They were abysmal, really, really bad, but in a weird predictable way. At this point we learned how to handle them, and how to ride them in a way that they were still going steady. It definitely wasn’t the most comfy way of travelling, but it didn’t matter, we were on our bikes, riding through Scotland, and was the only thing that really mattered!
