Tourists throng Mother’s Wax Museum in Kolkata

Inspired by Madame Tussauds museum in London, Mother’s Wax Museum at New Town is a recently added landmark in Kolkata for tourists. Consists of wax statues of more than 19 famous personalities from Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mother Teresa, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli, Diego Maradona, Brad Pitt and Satyajit Ray to Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Albert Einstein and Vidyasagar, the galleries have an assorted mix of celebrity and historical figures. People were seen buying caps and T-shirts autographed by celebrities from a memorabilia shop. They also took photograph with the statue without touching the figure. The entry ticket cost was Rs 250. The museum has been named after Mother Teresa.
