LG Display showed a very impressive new 8K OLED TV that can achieve an outstanding 2000 nits of peak brightness in a 3% window. They acheive this by fabricating a meta-lit lens array which is an internal panel process to create lensing elements over each pixel to better collect the light being emitted by the OLED layers. Such approaches would normally reduce off-axis luminace but LGD says this is improved too. 77" and 88" version may be mass production ready by the end of the year.

They also showed a 95" 4K OLED panel that will be commercialized this year as well.
