How does bioscience research translate into real-world impact?

This Follow-on Fund Showcase Webinar highlights how BBSRC-funded researchers are advancing cutting-edge discoveries into commercial products, services and technologies.

The BBSRC Follow-on Fund (FoF) is a core part of BBSRC’s commercialisation pipeline and has supported over 300 projects with more than £80m invested since 2004. Independent analysis shows a £9 net
return for every £1 of public investment, demonstrating the value of translational research in driving economic, commercial and societal outcomes.

In this session, you’ll hear from both FoF alumni and new FoF award holders showcasing how early research has progressed to commercial opportunities and impact. We also reflect on insights from the recent FoF evaluation and look ahead to how the programme continues to evolve.
