Do you really need a second degree? | Getting a second Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

Do you feel lost in life and feel like your career is not going anywhere? Do you think that you might need a second degree?

Getting a second degree can be useful and even necessary in some cases, e.g. if you work in areas with regulated professions. But in many cases, getting a second Bachelor’s or Master’s degree might not be necessary. If you feel you need a change in life, either in your career or general direction, there are a lot of other things that you can do, including taking a sabbatical, or devising your own exploration plan.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree almost always costs a lot of many. While you may have the money, think twice whether or not you really want to spend that money, or whether there are better, alternative uses for it. If you don’t have the funds, and would need to take up student debt (for the second time even), then think even harder how this decision will effect your finances.

Spend some time to figure out what you want in life and what is missing. Oftentimes there are solutions that are less costly and less time-intensive.
