MiniMegaPac Drum Shield Isolation Booth Demo | ClearSonic

Описание к видео MiniMegaPac Drum Shield Isolation Booth Demo | ClearSonic

In this video, we intend to show from multiple perspectives how our isolation booths work to isolate sound and reduce volume as pieces of the MiniMegaPac isolation booth are added around a drummer. Multiple microphones were used on the drum set and to capture sound at different points around the room to mimic the experience of the drummer, a vocalist, additional musician to the side, and the audience.

Additionally, dB meters were placed at each position to show respective drum volume changes and to measure loudness before the booth is constructed versus after. This way, you can see and hear how our products work to lower volume and create a better sounding and more pleasant listening environment.

About the MiniMega:

The ClearSonic MiniMega drum isolation booth is an easy way to effectively enclose, isolate, and lower the volume of drums, vocalists, horns, or other instruments.

Just take a step inside and you will hear and feel the difference. This is achieved by being enclosed on all sides by drum shields and extensive acoustic treatment. The drum shields act as a sound barrier reflecting sound back into the booth where it can be absorbed by the Sorber sound absorption baffles.

Our iso booths improve the sound quality in large spaces with reverberation, such as houses of worship, theatres and stages, and live performance venues. They are also great for quieting home practice and many other non-music settings beyond the stage and studio, such as translation or podcasting.

Getting in/out is easy – the entry point is on the left or right side where the rear drum shield butts up against the front drum shield. This allows either end panel of the rear drum shield to act as a door.

About the Production:

RME Mic Pres/Conversion - no volume or gain settings were adjusted
Drummer Position = AKG C214s - overheads, Shure SM57 - snare, Sennheiser MD421s - toms, Shure BETA-52A - kick
Vocalist Position = Shure SM58 - 8 ft. away
Guitarist Position = AKG C414 (cardioid pattern) - 10 ft. away
Audience Position = AKG C414 (cardioid pattern) - 27 ft. away

Decibel Reduction Measurement Averages:

We used a constant of 100 dB at the drums to take dB measurements for the other positions. The average reduction is about 10 dB, meaning the sound intensity is about half as loud or roughly a 50% reduction in perceived volume.

Vocalist Position = -11 dB
Guitarist Position = -10 dB
Audience Position = -8 dB
