This cat arrived at the clinic with a Botfly larva lodged in its neck. The veterinarians quickly assessed the situation and carefully removed the parasite, ensuring the cat's comfort throughout the procedure. Once the larva was successfully extracted, the cat visibly relaxed, purring contentedly as if showing gratitude for the attentive care it received.

Botfly infestations in cats are fairly common, affecting cats of all ages and genders, especially those that go outdoors. In northern regions, these cases are more frequent in late summer and early fall when botflies are active. However, in areas without cold winters, infestations can occur throughout the year.
