My trip to the remote village of Loikaw in the Karen hills was packed with fascinating sights, captured here. I had tea with women of the Kayan tribe, their necks elongated from a young age with metal rings, as they played their acoustic folk songs. I chatted with the Kayah and the smiley Kayaw people in their tribal dialects, and marveled at their distinctive stretched ears and elaborate jewelry. From the flooded rice terraces and beautiful scenery to the intriguing tribespeople we met, this was a visit to remember.
