Why is breathing crucial to gain focus? Deep diaphragmatic breaths slow the heart rate, reducing blood flow to the brain.

What does this mean for your brain? It prevents panic, enabling your brain to solve complex problems. If overthinking is your enemy, then practice slow breathing. It is a crucial step to regaining your focus.

2) Writing: The Gateway To The Second Brain 🧠

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by constant bombardment of modern media?
It was once said that the mind was never meant to store information, but rather to create ideas.

If the mind cannot store information, then what can we do? Write. Write things down on paper or digitally to activate the “second brain”. This frees up memory and allows you to regain focus.

3) Robotic Commands: Step-By-Step Approach 🤖

Why is it unproductive to figure out your next step AND execute it at the same time?

Here’s the secret, you CAN’T do both at the same time.

Back when I did project management, allocated time was spent to develop a detailed plan for a mechanical project. In that time, I focused on breaking down the tasks of the project. Eventually, I developed a step-by-step program that outlined what everyone in the project needed to do. The result was that productivity of the team had significantly increased in comparison to when I worked with teams without a plan.

It is said that the mind is bad at multitasking. Spend time to make a step-by-step plan, then execute it.

The mind is able to focus when the objective is clear.

4) Prioritize Quality Sleep 😴

Have you wondered why sleep is so important for your focus journey?

The mind consumes a lot of energy. Often, people feel mentally drained from over using their brain. One method to regain energy is to sleep 7-8 hours.

What else does sleep do to your brain? One key benefit is development of additional synapses in the brain to enhance memory storage. In addition, sleep regenerates crucial brain functions to improve emotional stability while optimizing focus. Prioritize quality sleep so you can be more focused.
