According to the American Heritage Dictionary, nativity is "Birth, especially the place, conditions, or circumstances of being born." But that's not the general usage of the word, is it? Probably the most frequent usage would be when we speak of nativity scenes this time of year. Nativity concerns with the place of one's birth. On this fourth Sunday of Advent, let's begin with a Scripture that from its opening phrase gives the idea that it would offer a wealth of information concerning the "nativity."
