Keeping up with its tradition, The Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) has received thousands of applications for a limited number of seats available at the college, as more than 15,000 aspirants appeared for the PUCIT entry test held on Sunday.

The competition for getting a seat in the coveted college keeps getting tougher each year, with the seats available far outnumbered by the applications. This year, the total number of seats available at PUCIT is 567. This means that 26 students are in the race for each seat. The merit is set to remain high this year, with only candidates having the top marks guaranteed a seat.

The entrance test was held on Sunday at BISE examination halls and were managed in four shifts to accommodate the huge number of candidates. The entry test result was successfully announced the same day. Maj (R) Dr Muhammad Arif Butt, Incharge PUCIT, said the purpose of “this entrance test is to check the analytical abilities as well as the aptitude of the candidates before admitting them in any of the three computing degrees offered at PUCIT, i.e., Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Technology”.
