In this tenth episode of my VFX Compositing Series, I explored the art of matte painting with a free-choice theme as part of my master's course in VFX. For this project, I recreated the surreal atmosphere of the sandstorm that hit New York City some time ago.

The process involved blending multiple images to craft a cohesive scene and projecting most of the buildings to ensure the perspective looked realistic. The challenge was to balance the dusty, stormy environment with the iconic skyline, making the scene feel immersive and true to the event.
