I've been searching for the ideal, mid-range priced, low-light telephoto lens for the Canon RF system to supplement my RF 100-500 f/4.5-7.1 IS lens. I found a reasonably price Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II lens and this week I compare the two in a controlled environment to see which one is sharper. Can the EF 400 mm f/4 DO augment the RF 100-500? I test on both the Canon R5 and the R7, as well as with and without the 1.4x TC III.
