Indian Navy eyes extension of Sea Guardian drone lease; MQ-9B on Modi's U.S. visit agenda

The Indian Navy is working to extend the lease of Sea Guardian surveillance drones from the US. The Indian Navy leased two US drones in 2020 against the backdrop of China's aggression in Ladakh. Their tenure expires in January 2024. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to discuss the purchase of armed Predator drones (MQ-9B) during his visit to the US next month.
