This is an August 2022 update of the current escalator replacement at Macy's Union Square in San Francisco, CA. Schindler is replacing the remaining original OTIS escalators. Let's check up on the progress! A couple of the old escalators were not running, and they appear to not have been for a while now. I didn't see any work being done though, and I wonder why. They replaced a bunch of them and then just stopped. Maybe they're waiting until next year to do the rest? Maybe they ran out of money? Who knows, but you should get here while you can if you want to see some of the only original things remaining in this store.
