Train Derailment, Wreck, and Aftermath - Canadian Pacific Train 498 in Plymouth, MN- CP Derailment

Around 1pm on March 7th, 2021, Canadian Pacific train 498 derailed in Plymouth, MN. This was at milepost 11.8 on the Paynesville Sub. From sources, about 24 cars are on the ground, rail is ripped up, and the line is out of service for a while. The train was traveling east to the Twin Cities when it either had a rail break, or experienced some type of track road bed failure. The locomotives and first car made it out ok, but the following cars came off of the tracks, creating a wreck. The crew is safe, and there are no injuries.

Thankfully, there were no hazmat's, or other hazardous items leaking from the derailed cars. The tank cars appear to be loaded with either sulfur or asphalt - no oil or chlorine gases. From what I've heard, this line should be back in service in a day or two.
