Описание к видео What are Transistors and How do they work? - A Galco TV Tech Tip | Galco

Transistors are semiconductor devices that are found in practically every electronic device made today. Their most commonly-used function involves using a small amount of electrical current applied between one pair of its terminals to control a much larger signal at another pair of terminals. This is a property known as “gain”. This effectively means that a transistor can act as an amplifier. Additionally, transistors can also act as an electrically-controlled switch or gate, turning current on and off, with the amount of current being determined by other elements in the circuit.
