Nissan launched the fourth-generation Pathfinder (dubbed R52) in late 2012 for the 2013 model year. Touting strong fuel economy, cargo, and volume figures, the latest Pathfinder also packed numerous class-exclusive features and technologies at launch, helping quickly and dramatically drive up sales of the nameplate.  The Pathfinder’s shift to a new unibody construction and driveline helped put more emphasis on space, refinement, and fuel efficiency — key demands of shoppers in this segment who were also considering models like the Mazda CX-9, Toyota Highlander, and GMC Acadia.
