The REAL Costs of Karting - explained!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Youtubedriver and thanks for coming to watch this first video.

I wanted to start with a video that looked at the costs of Karting in the UK and the subsequent lack of opportunities out there for aspiring racers on a "normal" persons budget. Yeah, this is subjective, but I'm largely meaning those people from working or middle class backgrounds. In the past I was lucky enough to race my own kart for years, albeit with the financial help from family, but always at the very lowest level of karting as this was all we could afford. This was great fun, however it became clear to me that even the most talented drivers regardless of their commitment and desire, have very limited opportunities to progress their career if they are racing with your "average Joe's" budget. Then as I grew older, trying to fund my own racing alongside working full time and especially recently in the cost of living crisis, it became obvious just how flawed the whole system of karting and motorsport participation is in the UK. I wanted to highlight and explain this in this video, and put some truths out there.

This was such a fitting video as it highlights where I want to go with the channel, and should explain why I intend on fulfilling my own personal passion not exclusively but largely through simulator racing and some pretty unique sim and driving challenges!
