BENIDORM IN WINTER - PONIENTE BEACH - Full tour from Old Town and along Playa Poniente.

Poniente beach of Benidorm Measuring more than 3 kilometres in length, with a delightful and refurbished promenade, it is the perfect place for a stroll along the shoreline on the Costa Blanca.

Beyond the old town of Benidorm we find this fantastic sandy beach, less crowded than Levante beach but where you can also find a great atmosphere.

This is the longest beach in the resort, more than 3 km long, making it an ideal place to stroll along the shore. Is characteristically quieter than Levante beach . It is an urban beach with a new modern promenade designed by the architect Carlos Ferrater and with a large number of restaurants and bars and clubs to enjoy.

It has a full range of services and leisure facilities such as floating platforms, Beach Library, playground, recreational games, sports, shaded areas for reading and an accessible beach service for the disabled.

Poniente beach is the largest beach but less crowded than its neighbor Playa Levante in the center of Benidorm, although its occupancy level is high, the entire atmosphere in lively and is a family friendly beach.
With an area of about 3.5 km of fine sand and calm waters, this beach is perfect for swimming and to enjoy with the little ones.

The beach has very good services and modern facilities including parking, bus stops, umbrellas, showers, toilets, and walkways. You can practice water sports such as water skiing, jet skis, parasailing, scuba diving, there is lifeguard service, ramps and disabled access. Fun for the little ones on this beach is assured as platforms have water, playground, swings, trampolines, rafts, slides and sports games as well as nets to play beach volleyball.

For all its good services and cleanliness of the beach and its waters, Poniente beach is awarded every year with the Blue Flag of the European Union.

Along the boulevard it features a wide range of leisure spots and a large number of bars, terraces, restaurants and cafes. And one of the surprises of this beach is that it has fantastic sunsets, so after a perfect beach day, nothing better than sitting at sunset on one of the terraces with a beer or a cocktail to relax before dinner.

Poniente Beach is a gorgeous stretch of coastline in the city of Benidorm, Spain. Benidorm is located in the province of Alicante, Spain, right on the western Mediterranean Sea. Playa de Poniente, as it is referred to by the natives, is not the only beach in Benidorm. It actually shares the city with Levante Beach. Benidorm is split into two halves: Poniente and Levante.

The climate in Poniente Beach is difficult to rival, even in the beautiful Mediterranean region. Because of the positioning of the town between high mountains, and the warm currents streaming off of the water, Poniente Beach is virtually in a year-round spring and summer.

When deciding which Benidorm beach you might like to visit, take into consideration that Poniente Beach is widely considered to be less crowded, and the cleaner of the two beaches. Many of the people at Poniente Beach are residents of Benidorm. The water is relatively shallow, so, combined with the fact that the beach is less congested, Poniente Beach may be the better selection for families or those with small children.
