3,800 actual miles! 2 owners, original survivor. Has original invoice, the original build sheet is still under the seat. The 2nd owner was at an estate sale 6 years ago and this car was covered up in the garage. He struck a deal, bought it then parked it.

EXTERIOR: It has its original Heritage Brown paint with day 2 enhancements. Typical of those times it had some dark brown air brushed highlights and hand pin striping. The dark brown is cracking with some flaking on the bumpers and spoiler. It also had the hood bird custom air brushed on. The factory paint actually still has a glossy finish. The body is excellent, no rust or significant damage, only a couple minor door dings. The original weatherstrips and window seals are still very good. The original glass is crystal clear. It has the 15x8 snowflake wheels and they look brand new. They also still have their original polysteel tires with no wear.

INTERIOR: It's like a time capsule! Practically looks brand new and it's all original. The dash area is spotless, ashtray was never used. Cushions, upholstery, carpet are mint. The original build sheet is still under the driver seat. All the trim, console, steering wheel, ashtrays are like new. It has tilt wheel and a factory cassette stereo.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original 6.6 liter 403 motor runs smooth. It's all stock- original valve covers, manifolds, brackets etc. Complete shaker hood assembly including duct work. It features power steering and brakes.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a power trunk release. Zero rust. Under the trunk lid is original paint in excellent shape. It has the original collapsible spare, air bottle and jack. None of which have ever been out of the car. It has a custom carpet liner and tire cover. It also has original t-top bags and front license plate bracket.

UNDERSIDE: It is a very well preserved, all original underside. It has the special performance package which includes upgraded handling and disc brakes at all for wheels. All the components still look to be in very good shape. The shocks may have been replaced. It still has its original exhaust including the catalytic converter, GM mufflers and the splitter chrome tips. (In the video I mistakenly said the converter was rusted, it is not.) There is zero rust in the floors, braces, rockers, or lower quarter panels. Pristine metal. Bottom of the motor is original, never even spray painted over. Original Turbo 350 automatic trans. Original posi rear end.

Conclusion: Not many Trans Ams from 1979 only have 3,800 actual miles. A car can be restored over and over, it can be original only once. This is a rare opportunity!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
