FYI, if you have a tex-coat and want to match it.
You must look at the sand in your text coat and match it.
Or it could be Perlight sold in the garden areas of hardware stores, as it is lighter than sand.
Perlite is made from mined volcanic glass and is used in tex-coating and acrylic paint. I used a La Habra color coat in this video, or you can shoot any Portland stucco.

What’s that? Don’t have a hopper or a dash brush?
I have used a whisk broom, a paintbrush, and even a tall kitchen house broom to apply a dash finish. We must learn to improvise when plastering.

BTW, you can purchase a hand Hopper or a dash brush at Home Depot or Lowes and all plastering years, such as Westside Building Materials.
