During a bombing mission against the anti-aircraft installations in the Palau Islands, a B-24 bomber is hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashes in flames. Out of the 10 crew members on board, 9 were killed in the crash with the exception of the Navigator, 2nd Lt. Wallace F,. Kaufman, who was later captured and executed by the Japanese.

I have applied a lot of processing to the original video. Initially, I increased the FSP from 24 to 50 and I then modified the sharpness of the video. Then I scaled it from its original resolution (1280x720) to 3840x2160, thus a 4K resolution. In the final step, I colorized the video using DeOldify and I also removed the background noise that was present in the audio. Since there's a lot of room for improvement (especially when it comes to the colorization), I will do my best to further improve the quality of the videos I upload here. Most of the video processing I applied makes use of Artificial Intelligence to achieve state-of-the-art results but there's still room for improvement. I'm a doing a masters in AI and I enjoy playing around with available deep learning methods, so I will continuously try to use the methods that produce the best results. Thank you for watching!
