Mental Health and Dyslexia 3 Studies you should know

Описание к видео Mental Health and Dyslexia 3 Studies you should know

More often than not, dyslexics tend to feel very uncomfortable in school. It can be traumatic and have long-term consequences like, for example, PTSD. We see unsurprisingly that dyslexics rate their overall well-being as low, especially in school. They might fear humiliation when reading out loud in front of the class. Often they are victims of bullying, and experience low self-esteem due to repeated failure. Dyslexics commonly exhibit very high anxiety levels and depression.
So, dyslexia is definitely not just a difficulty in reading and writing. It can have a profound impact on an individual's life and especially on their mental health.

🙋🏼‍♂️ My name is Arije, and I am a dyslexic with an MA in Education Studies. I aim to share all my tips for learning, coping, teaching, and more on my channel. My aim is to help you understand what dyslexia is and how to work with those that have it. Because I believe that, as the most common hidden learning disability, dyslexia needs to be seen to be understood.
