Wildlife in Bangladesh is the major attraction for the tourism sector in the country. বাংলাদেশের বন্যপ্রাণি দেশের পর্যটন খাতের জন্য প্রধান আকর্ষণীয় জিনিস।
This has led to many government initiatives aimed at protecting these populations from further decline. এটি সরকারের নানা উদ্যোগ গ্রহণে ভূমিকা রেখেছে, যার লক্ষ্য হলো আরো ধ্বংস হওয়া থেকে এর সংখ্যাকে সংরক্ষণ করা।
The banteng, hispid hare, and Asian elephant are mainly threatened by poaching and hunting. ব্যাংটেং(একপ্রকার বন্যগরু), হিসপিড খরগোস, এবং এশিয়ার হাতি প্রধানত: হুমকির মুখে অন্যায়ভাবে ধরা ও শিকার করার কারণে।
If their populations are not monitored and guarded, they may soon become extinct. যদি তাদের সংখ্যা পর্যবেক্ষণ না করা ও পাহারা না দেওয়া হয়, তবে তারা শীঘ্রই বিলুপ্ত হবে।

Asian Elephant এশিয়ার হাতি
The trunk of the Asian elephant is believed to contain up to 60,000 muscles. এশিয়ান হাতির শুঁড়ে ৬০,০০০ মাংসপেশী আছে বলে বিশ্বাস করা হয়।
It is used by the elephant for dusting, breathing, feeding, washing, and grasping among other functions. হাতি একে ব্যবহার করে ঝাড়া, শ্বাস নেওয়া, খাদ্য গ্রহণ, ধৌতকরণ, এবং আঁকড়ে ধরা সহ নানাবিধ কাজে ব্যবহার করে।
The elephant has smooth skin, is grey in colour, and has an average weight of 2.7 tons for females and 4 tons for males. হাতির রয়েছে মসৃণ ত্বক, ধূসর বর্ণের, এবং মাদি হাতির গড় ওজন ২.৭ টন এবং পুরুষ হাতির গড় ওজন ৪ টন।
Asian elephants are mainly found in Chattogram Hills of Bangladesh, an area less accessible to humans. বাংলাদেশের চট্টগ্রামের পার্বত্য এলাকায় প্রধানত এশিয়ান হাতির দেখা মেলে, যেখানে মানুষের আনাগোনা কম।
As a result, human-elephant conflicts are few in this region. যার ফলে, এসব এলাকায় মানুষ-হাতির দ্বন্দ্ব খুব একটা চোখে পড়ে না।
The primary threat to the Asian elephant’s existence is habitat loss due to the increasing human population. জনসংখ্যা বৃদ্ধির ফলে এশিয়ান হাতির অস্তিত্বের জন্য প্রাথমিক হুমকি হলো সে বাসস্হান হারাচ্ছে।

Additionally, elephants face poaching threats as they are hunted for ivory, food, and leather. এছাড়াও, এশিয়ান হাতি বেআইনীভাবে আটকজনিত হুমকিতে আছে, কারণ এদের শিকার করা হয় দাঁত, খাদ্য, ও চামড়ার জন্য।
