Aromatic Tomato Tili Saaru (Rasam)

Ingredients -

Boiled Toor Dal, tomatoes, Rasam powder, coconut milk, tamarind juice, jaggery, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves 🍃, coriander leaves, red chillies, asafoetida, tumeric powder, 2 spoons of oil & 2 spoons of ghee, salt as per taste

Take a pan, pour 2 table spoons of groundnut oil, add in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, add in curry leaves & coriander leaves, add in red chillies add tumeric powder, add asafoetida and fry it for a second. Add in some more coriander leaves, then add in water or boiled dal stalk, then add some roughly chopped tomatoes into the pan, slightly mix
add in tamarind juice or extract, add some jaggery , then goes in 3 tablespoons of Rasam Powder,mix well, and add in salt as per your taste. Keep the boiled toor dal (along with tomatoes) aside.
Let it come to a boil & thicken a bit, stir in between, then goes in boiled toor dal with tomatoes, mix well, let it come to a nice boil, then add in some more curry leaves 🍃 , add in some more coriander leaves, add in fresh coconut milk, let it simmer for some more time, add in salt if required, keep stirring in between, let it come to a nice boil.

While it simmers for some time & fir additional flavour, In a small hot pan, pour 2 spoons of ghee, add in mustard seeds, add curry leaves 🍃 & asafoetida, pour the tempering into the tomato tili saaru.

Aromatic tomato tili saaru (rasam) is ready to serve with hot steamed rice & ghee
