I got hold of a very cheap Clas Ohlson PT260. It’s not known to be a quality brand, but as the machine looks to be identical with numerous other brands such as Metabo HC260, Electra Beckum, Record Power, Luna, uni max, Disber, Sheppach etc etc.
My two criterias was I needed a machine that wasn’t to big- yet solid, and I wanted to get a helical cutter head.
So I got in touch with Sheartak and asked if they could confirm their PT260 cutterhead would match the Clas Ohlson version. They thought so, but sent me a drawing so I could verify the dimensions before ordering.
It was spot on!
In the process I’ve replaced bearings, feed roller, and both belts. I’ve also polished the tables.
