Equipped with state-of-the-art human patient simulators and simulation medical equipment, the Ruth D. Corcoran Simulation Center at Galen College of Nursing in Tampa Bay, Florida, allows Galen students to experience as close to a real-world setting as possible outside the of an actualhospital healthcare environment. It's an invaluable student resource for improving clinical judgment and increasing safety in nursing practice. It also assists Galen instructors in teaching and evaluating specific nursing methods and skills.

The 2,300 square-foot Sim Center is outfitted to closely resemble a hospital setting. The on-campus facility includes two fully-equipped simulation suites, debriefing rooms, and a control center for faculty observation, and a simulation office and direction. Students find all the equipment makes the simulation as real as it gets—with newborn warmers, medication carts, feeding pumps, cardiac monitors, intravenous infusion pumps, working headwalls and more.

Galen offers nursing programs for Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses. Galen has nursing schools in Louisville, Kentucky; Cincinnati, Ohio; San Antonio, Texas; and Tampa Bay, Florida. (NOTE: Galen School of Nursing in Tampa Bay was renamed Galen College of Nursing in spring 2012.)
