Orchard Kids // A Widow's Oil is Multiplied // Based on 2 Kings 4:1-7

This Sunday, God uses the prophet Elisha to help provide for a widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7. The woman owed a debt that she was unable to pay and she would lose her sons if she did not pay back what she owed.

The only thing of value that this woman had was a little jar of oil. A miraculous thing happened when Elisha told the woman to start collecting jars from all her neighbors and to start pouring the oil into the jars. The little bit of oil she had was multiplied. She soon had enough oil to fill up every jar and she was able to sell the oil and pay back the debt she owed.

Our God is incredible and nothing limits His power. We can rejoice in Him because no matter what happens, He takes care of His children. The same God in this story is still the same today.

Just when the widow thought there was no hope for her and her sons, God provided what they needed. In the same way, there was no hope for us until God provided a way to save us from sin through His son, Jesus.
