Cheap above ground pool heater setup

Update: Bigger pool, 16ft x 4 ft deep... I went through 19-20 bottles of propane from June to September. So about 5 per month. That comes out to about $80 a month to heat. Natural gas would be about 1/10 of that so if you're good with gas hookups get that heater. Since mine is still working after 3 summers, I'll just keep using it until I need a new one. I did have to buy a new pump in the 3rd year.

Here's my setup for my above ground pool for the kids. In Colorado you have to take the chill off in the morning for about 30 minutes to an hour since the lows are always in the 50s. Total cost was about $250,mainly because I got the more expensive heater because it's Colorado. The heater is sold as an off-grid camping heater for showers (no electricity required), but works great for this purpose using propane. We had the pool up to over 100 degrees over memorial day, like a hot tub! It's been working great!
