After the wave of zero-emissions battery electric trucks swelled and crested, the trucking industry is taking a long look at how existing and developing internal combustion engine technology can continue to drive emissions lower. That type of focus sharpens down to the engine components.

“We focus on improving efficiencies of our systems today while driving toward a cleaner tomorrow,” said Todd Anderson, vice president and chief technology officer, Phinia. Anderson stood in the Phinia booth at ACT Expo surrounded by high-efficiency components like closed-loop injectors, high-pressure pumps, and integrated common rail systems. These advancements are designed to support OEM platforms while offering lifecycle extension opportunities through aftermarket availability.

“It’s going to take the best of every technology for us to achieve our global decarbonization efforts," Anderson said. "There’s not a single silver bullet.”
