The municipality has more than 400 hectares of agricultural land producing cereals , wine , fruits or which are left in meadows; Another 186 hectares are forests owned mainly by the State of Geneva.

Agriculture and viticulture, for the most part, as well as crafts and independent activities, constitute the economic fabric of Collex-Bossy.

According to the Federal Statistical Office , Collex-Bossy measures 6.89 km 2 [ 2 ] . 10.2% of this area corresponds to housing or infrastructure areas, 64.4% to agricultural areas, 24.9% to wooded areas and 0.4% to unproductive areas.

The town is made up of the towns of Bossy, Collex, La Bâtie, La Foretaille and La Rosière. The town also includes the hamlets of Collex, Bossy, Crest d'El and Vireloup. It borders on Versoix and Bellevue , as well as on France .
