Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) offers high quality training for apprentice engineers and technicians in a partnership between UKAEA and the Science And Technology Facilities Council.

OAS trains apprentices to Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This qualification has been designed with employers to give the technical and practical knowledge required to work in the engineering sector – and it’s a great foundation for a career. Training is provided by MTC Apprenticeships at Culham Science Centre, developing young people with the right skills for the growing hi-tech industry in the Science Vale UK region and beyond.

Already we have almost 100 apprentices being trained for 16 leading local employers. A brand-new OAS training centre will open in September 2019 with capacity for up to 350 apprentices per year.
