Making a Gum Arabic Binder for Water Colour Paints

This is a short video that I put together to show you how I mix up a solution of Gum Arabic Binder using gum arabic powder. This binder will be used in other videos in the how-to series, where I will share the basic methods that I use for making watercolour paints and water-based inks.

About Gum Arabic
Gum arabic is a natural non-toxic binder made from the resin of the Acacia tree. It is used extensively in the food and drinks industry as well as for the manufacture of artists' paints. Other uses of gum arabic include the binder in incense cones and the lickable adhesive used on stamps and labels.
