La Palma volcano: Drone video shows devastated island engulfed by black lava

Drone footage taken over the past two days showed swathes of charred land engulfed by lava in La Palma, Spain, capturing a comprehensive bird's eye view of the extent of devastation from the Cumbre Vieja volcano eruption, which shows no sign of ending.

Streams of lava have laid waste to more than 1,833 acres of land and destroyed almost 2,000 buildings on La Palma since the volcano started erupting on Sept. 19.

There were 42 seismic tremors on the island on Sunday, the largest of which measured 4.3, according to the Spanish National Geographical Institute.

About 7,000 people have been evacuated from their homes on the island.
