In May 2022, we purchased a restored 1946 Piper J-3 Cub to use for tailwheel training, replacing the 2007 Cubcrafters Sport Cub that we recently sold. The ‘46 J-3 is almost identical to the vintage 1938 Cub that we flew around the United States in the summer of 2012. That trip a decade ago was the subject of a book we authored together, titled Fly The Airplane.
