On hearing of the passing of the great Scott Walker I was truly saddened. His voice, his songs, his commitment to music as an artform and to pushing the boundaries of songwriting and composition was so inspiring to me. His music moved me in every way possible. His music could make me feel heartache, nostalgia, melancholy, terror, insanity and love in such a potent way that few other musical artists manage. The man was an absolute master and I adore him. The world lost a genius this week. Upon learning of his death I rushed to my room and recorded this in one take as a tribute to one of my all time heroes. I hope you like this, and I urge you to go and listen to some Scott Walker. Spend some time in his world and experience something truly extraordinary.
