A student is in the hospital and another student is in custody after a stabbing at Meadowbrook High School, according to the Chesterfield County Police Department.

The school went on lockdown around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, leaving students and staff in place — and parents standing by on edge.

Some parents said they were waiting for hours outside the school for their students to be released. One parent said this highlights security concerns he already had.
