YASS QUEEN is a song about the queen bee, but sung from the perspective of one of her royal subjects: a drone bee. Drone bees are the males in the hive. Unlike worker bees (female), drone bees do not gather nectar or make honey. They surround the queen in the hive to try and keep her safe, and then they ultimately leave the hive in hopes the queen will mate with one of them, mid-air, to procreate. After a queen bee mates with a drone bee, the drone bee simply falls to the ground and dies. It's a shocking and surprising system in nature.
