Installing ECHO Wizard for Maintenance Tasks and Advanced Settings

First add your Source to Kodi by going to System and down to File Manager and adding: http://tdbrepo.com

Call it what you want, I prefer to put a . at the beginning of my sources to make them quicker to find.

Then go into System - Add-ons - Install from zip file and select repository.echo-x.xx.zip

Wait for it to say ECHO Repository Add-on enabled. This can take a minute or so depending on how fast your internet and box is.

Next, go into Install from repository and select the ECHO Repository. Then go into Program add-ons and select the ECHO Wizard. Select INSTALL.

Wait for it to say ECHO Wizard Add-on enabled and you can back out to the main Kodi Menu. Go into Programs and run the ECHO Wizard.

There are lots of things this Wizard can do, but the only thing we are covering in this video are the Maintenance Tools and the Advanced Settings. Go ahead and go to the Maintenance Tools section and select it.

I recommend turning the Weekly Auto Clean and the Auto Clean on Kodi Launch settings both to ON. This will automatically clean your Cache, Thumbnails and Packages every week, and every time your Kodi application launches. Just keeps things nice and tidy. Next, go down to Auto Clean Device. I recommend selecting your Context Menu here, either your 3-Line button on your remote, or hold down the select button on Android boxes, or pressing C on your keyboard if you have one. And select Add to favourites. This will add a shortcut to the Auto Clean in your favourites so you can access it from the Kodi Main Menu. And clean your Cache, Packages and Thumbnails at any time you like. And lastly, go ahead and run it now manually so that it cleans them now.

And now we want to back out and go into the Advanced Settings Menu. Here it will let you setup your advancedsettings.xml file to prioritize the memory of your device. This will help some users with buffering. If you have one of the set devices listed, like an Amazon Fire Stick, or Fire TV, or NVIDIA Shield box, then select one of those. If you have one of the cheaper Android Boxes that has low memory, then select the 512MB option. If you know you have 1GB or more of RAM then select that option. This just optimizes the cache setting for your box. It is known to give the system a little more room to cache your video before it starts playing.

Make sure after making these changes you exit Kodi gracefully, don't just power it down. Make sure you exit from the menu. And then start it back up. That way it saves the settings.
