Suburban back yard bee hive security feed and more.
I love to sit and watch the bees. Tune in. Watch some older footage. Watch for critters and nefarious folk? Maybe catch a swarm on video. Maybe even see the beekeeper fumbling about. Swing by the "upload" section for beekeeper action.

Vibe of the Hives:
10/28 - More blunders? The supers we returned to the bees are HALF full again! Their brood nest are HEAVY. Beetle population low. mmm Traps on hand provide as much cover as trapping them. Grr. SO.. Break out the calipers and just make my own.
10/23 - Of 6 hives moved south of town one was culled. 3 are broodless but packed with bees. Two seem to be rocking (older hives). Pulled another maybe 3 frames of honey from 2 removed supers.
10/23 - Of 6 hives moved south of town one was culled. 3 are broodless but packed with bees. Two seem to be rocking (older hives). Pulled another maybe 3 frames of honey from 2 removed supers.
10/5 - Lost two hive in MI. Harvested 40 & 50 pounds of honey.
8/24 - Hive Checks, The rain patterns really washed out all the nectar before the bees got to much of it. Woody in the back with two supers really is the only hive I may pull honey from later this week. Very dry. Of note. Pirate Cove queen has completely shut down. All the bees are TINY.
8/19 - Lake Hive, removed a super, pushed a capped frame down into brood box. Slow progress. Plenty of bees. Queen was busy.
8/11 - Michigan Hives; Pulled about 50 and 45 pounds of two different types of honey from ONE hive.
7/21 Back Yard hive checks. Smaller hives a bit thirsty. Bigger hives doing well. Added a super to Cam Hive. Woody has most honey. Did see the unmarked queen in the hive next to The Mountain.
7/17 Lake hive added 2nd super. 1st super about 70% two blank sides in 2n brood box.
7/14 MI Checks, 3rd super added to two. Other 3 still less than half of 2nd deep or 1st super.
7/10 Checks, pulled 3 capped frames. Redistributed frames/supers.
7/4-6 Sold a hive. Pulled a super. 30# bottled honey.
6/30 Rehived Squatterman Hive MI hives all good.
6/24 Lake Hive. Moved 5 fat frames to super . Developing top brood box.
6/20 - Woody is queenless. Will combine with one of the other later.
6/18 - Grumpy Feet, Sunset inspection got half brood nest checked. On little empty cup. They were agitated and very very mobile. They were crawling everywhere. Flying. I relented. No stingers and they didn't pursue me. I call that a win.
6/15 - MI The seemingly failed queen decided it was time to start laying eggs. Took another small hive up. Others banging.
6/9 - MI Farmer installed two NUCS from me in his hives. Two of mine rocking. One faded.
6/7 Back Alley, Sky, The Mountain and one next to it all QR.
6/6 - I think Woody threw a swarm. Tore out all queen cells. Queens in all the 5 frame hives. Pirate cove under performing as well as the hive in the middle of that stand.
6/2 2 2024 Queens in Michigan laying. Boosted newer hives from larger hive.
5/31 Marked and lost queen in wooden NUC next to SKY. Left it open for a bit. Added 2nd box. Combined a NUC into Grumpy Feet.
5/24 Inspections. Fence row. Grumpy -old swarm cells, dead? 1st ProNUC making new queens. Moved two colonies to ProNUCS. Back ProNUC needs reduced or installed. Woody QR. 3 deep next to Woody is QR. Sky Hive tore out some queen cups. Plopped a super on middle hive on low rails.
5/19 Extracted last of 2023 honey.
5/17-18 Lost a queen in the middle of the yard. Installed two NUCs at customer location.
5/12-13 Got all hives inspected except The Mountain. Most notable were 2-3 emerged queen cells in Woody. Tore 5 more out. Stuck one nice looking cell into The Cam Hive (Stumpy) Just in case she indeed leave with that swarm I caught or one I missed.
5/12 Moved mate 2 frame s to 5 frame 3
5/2 - Cam Hive Swarmed!! This time they landed on neighbors fence. I was able to get them in a box. Not sure they will stay.
4/30 - Cam Hive Swarmed! However, I convinced them to come back and then did a split. Wrecked all the queen cells in Woody. Took queen out of Back Alley into a 5 fame nuc. Confirmed Carnolian looking queen bee and in Pirate Cove. 10 frame in middle of yard: tore out early queen cells. Confirmed Happy Feet is queen-less. May combine queen from Back Alley later in the week.
4/28 - Shrouded hive check, marked queen. Saw brood. Reduced to one super. Added super to Back Alley Hive. Caught swarm at sunset that had been hanging out since at least 3:30pm. I totally walked and worked right next to it and didn't even "see" it until I was inside looking at camera feed!
4/27 - 2 Dead outs in MI. Recovered 50 pounds honey. Split survivor.
4/23 - Made two splits from Back Alley and two from Woody. Marked Woody's queen.
4/13-15 - Made a 3 frame split from The Mountain. Made a 2 frame split f
