NTPC Will Be Taking Over Defunct Power Plants And Revive Them | RK Singh, Power Minister To ET Now

Speaking exclusively to ET NOW, Union Power Minister RK Singh says: Demand of Power has gone up. On day to day basis, it is 40,000-50,000 MW higher than last year. Demand has increased by 25%. “I would have happier if there was more coal stock at power plants. But the stock we have is manageable which is 22 mn tonne. There is no problem now but problem may occur in rainy season.” We are also operating power plants which are in NCLT. NTPC will operate these plants and profit will go to COC, he confirms.
