We're pleased to announce the works on Flagstaff Hill's Minkarra Park Link Path are now complete, and the path was officially opened on Sunday 14 April 2024 at an event attended by Premier Peter Malinauskas, Erin Thompson MP and Mayor Moire Were.

The opening of the new Minkarra Park Link Path in Flagstaff Hill marks a significant milestone, as it connects two cherished trails and reserves, Black Road to Chandlers Hill Road, for the first time. This 700-metre shared-use path eliminates the barrier posed by the Flagstaff Hill Golf Club course, enhancing accessibility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists alike.

The project included initiatives like weed control and revegetation that not only fosters connectivity but also enriches biodiversity and wildlife habitat. The path's design, featuring boardwalk sections and safety fencing, prioritises inclusivity and ease of access, promising further enhancements with upcoming revegetation efforts.

Accessible from multiple points, the new link path promises to strengthen the community's bond with nature while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
