Restoring an old animal trap found in a swamp. Parts of it are still functional, but the pressure plate sticks and doesn't work well. I choose to restore this back to as close to factory condition (bare metal) as possible. If I were going to use this for trapping, I would finish the metal in a different way, by hot or cold blueing it or some other method for long-term rust protection. As it stands, the protectant spray will be suitable to prevent corrosion and rust as it sits inside as a display piece.

The items I used for this restoration are:
-Standard tools
-Wire brushes
-Soap and water
-White vinegar
-Dremel rotary tool w/ wire wheel attachments
-CLP protectant and preservative
